YOUTH ACTION INITIATIVES TEAM

The Organization works as team with 5 staff members and about 32 volunteers. The current staff members include:

Kunle J. Odeyemi is Director/Focal Person of YAI and has been involved in Youth Development activism nationally and internationally since 2002. He has worked on various developmental issues such as HIV/AIDS, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Gender, Millennium Development Goals etc.He made a presentation on HIV/AIDS prevention among high risk groups at the International Conference on AIDS and STI in Africa (ICASA 2005). He represented the Kano Debate to Action ( a British Council/World Bank project aimed at building the capacity of youth organizations on the MDGs) at the UK residential course on the MDGs and the project launch in London. He is the author of the book entitled "Building Capacity - Sustaining Development", (Case study of intervention activities that can assist in attaining sustainable development - yet to be published). temi_dayo06@yahoo.com

RUBY E. ETOH is Program Associate for YAI and and expert in SRHR, Gender and Women Helath. She had a diploma in adult education and community development and BA English for Bayero University, Kano. She is the Facilitator for a British Council Project entitiled TrendUK and has attended several conferences on Women Health. Eserugene@yahoo.com

Brief Description

SULAIMAN I. MOHAMMAD is Program Associate and an expert in Millenium Development Goals and Leadership. He is a trained Peer Health Educator as well as a graduate of LEAP African Leadership institute. He has a passion for youth development and community based intervention.

Nura iro ma'aji,a graduate of Political Science, Development activist, youth mobiliser, and an alumni of LEAP Africa integrity and Leadership programme and also a trained peer facilitator with LEAP Africa,Born on 21 june,1982 in sumaila LGA,Kano State.

Seun Odeyemi, Is a graduate of Pure and Applied Mathematics from the University of Illorin, serves as Logistics Manager for YAI and has since his university days being consistent in his effort towards ensuring the targets of the Millennium Development Goals are reached before 2015. His areas of work and interest in the past 5 years of experience in development issues have being HIV/AIDS, Environmental Sustainability, Peace and conflict resolution among other.
